Originally formed in 1939, the Friends of the Lafayette Library currently focuses on the same strengths we always have:
- Marketing gently used books — now with a new retail store, the Friends Corner Book Shop
- Producing Sweet Thursdays, A Writer’s Place and Special Programs.
- Using our resources to provide Library materials and to support our librarians
- Recruiting volunteers interested in working on behalf of the Library and the Friends group.
- Sponsoring County Library Programs.
We welcome your participation as a Friend of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. How can you help us support the library?
Here are just a few ideas:
- Attend out wonderful free programs and events.
- Shop at the Friends Corner Book Shop – so we can raise more money for the library.
- Tell your friends about the Friends Corner Book Shop – they’ll thank you and so will we!
- Donate Books to the Friends Corner Book Shop.
- Volunteer – either at the Book shop, at author events, or for periodic needs.
- Get really involved… Join the Friends Corner Book Shop Board.
Want to Donate Money for the Library?
Since 2009, we no longer collect membership dues. If you would like to support the Library with direct financial contributions, we’d like to suggest you contact the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation. They’re happy to talk to you about contributions, large and small, as well as in kind.
